Thursday, December 15, 2011 - End of 2011
The Psalmist David wrote in Psalm 65:11 that the Lord crowns the year with his goodness. 2011 has certainly been that kind of year for our revival team. We have been privileged to hold meetings everywhere from the cornfields of Iowa, the mining towns of West Virginia, the pine thickets of Alabama, and the sunny shores of Florida; to big cities like Chicago, Detroit, Cleveland, and Columbus! We spent several days in an evangelistic campaign in Haiti as well as several weeks in youth camps in the country of Moldova. We also preached in many camps, vacation Bible Schools, and teen revivals. And on top of all of that, we partnered with several public schools in our new public school/local church teen rallies! God has certainly been good to us and we were thrilled to see just over 800 souls profess faith in Christ throughout the year.
On top of a very busy schedule of meetings, we also continued traveling together as a family. The Young children are growing up so very quickly and we are amazed and glad that God is working in their lives. Abbie is now in the 10th grade and Josh is in the 9th. Matthew is in the 6th grade and Jacob is in 3rd. Charity, the life of the family, just turned three! She has brought great joy to all of us and we couldn’t be happier at how God has blessed our home. We took several steps this year that has made an incredible impact on our home and family. First, we now designate every Friday as a Fun Family Friday and we spend the entire day playing, resting, and enjoying being together. It has been wonderful for all of us. Saturday has almost always been a travel day and now we combine that travel day into a school day too so that we can enjoy a family day each week. We have also designated one afternoon each week for a time of soul-winning. Our children have blossomed there too and I am so glad that we were sensitive to His leading in that area. I know that many of you pray for our family and I hope you will continue to do so. We are so very blessed.
Of course, Brother Corn is still on the team, and even added a wife this year! He and Joy were married in April and they currently help in the music programs of our campaigns, conduct Children’s Revival Adventures, Public School Assemblies and Youth Rallies, and run a full summer schedule of Vacation Bible Schools and Youth Revivals! David also helps in the curriculum preparation for Independent Baptist College of Asia-Pacific, the college we have helped to start in the Philippines. We praise the Lord for David and Joy’s partnership on our team.
Please continue to pray for our team and for our families. As the year begins to wind down, we do have financial needs and I hope that you will pray with us about that. We are already planning for the New Year, and as you will see from our schedule, it is going to be a busy one! Pray about that too. Pray that God will give us wisdom concerning our families and that they will continue to be our primary priority. Pray also about a house for our family. We are currently considering buying one in the countryside near Milton, Florida and could own a home by the end of this year! That would be an incredible blessing for us.
We will always be grateful for each of you and for the blessing you have been to us! Thank you for partnering with us as we continue to serve Him! He is certainly worthy. Multitudes are still in need of Christ. Churches still need revival. Our generation needs another Great Awakening. How we rejoice that He is still able to meet all of these needs.
Sincerely,
The David Young Revival Team
